Aestimare Bona - the key to Bandol

A week ago I could have been organized under a Wine & Dine in Seegut Bäch of the Bona Aestimar e, taste some nice Bandol's. The notes are parallell to the table were talking and eating and, as always, only snapshots.


Château de La Noblesse, Bandol Blanc, 2009
bright yellow. Floral nose, delicate white fruit, some conifers, electuary, pineapple. Powerful palate, slightly resinous, honey notes, rather low acidity, very long finish, voices. Fits with starters but also to a strong, salty, fish soup. 16.0 vvpunkte, 2011-2013

Château de La Noblesse, Bandol Rosé, 2009 Rosa
Tender, beautiful salmon reflections. Fragrant nose, a little strawberry and gooseberry. Soft tread, very creamy, good freshness, very strong, good complexity and nice acidity, top rose, very balanced, Elegance and power combined. As an aperitif or accompanying salad. 5.16 vvpunkte, 2011-2013

Château St. Anne, Côtes de Provence, 2006
Beautiful burgundy, slightly brighter edge. Nice spicy nose, and dark red berries, orange peel, a little herbaceous. Nice start, rather easily, some bitter notes, red berries, well balanced. 5.14 vvpunkte, 2011-2014,

Beautiful burgundy. Restrained nose, very deep, some leather, and pine resin, pine
strong round kick, great berry fruit, plums, good Gerbstoffgerüst with great acidity, nice Bandol. 16.5 + vvpunkte, 2012-2016

Domaine de La Laidi, Bandol Rouge, 2007
tight burgundy, almost black in the core. Nose deep, complex, smoky, slightly reductive notes. Strong start, great structure, strong tannins with good supporting acidity, red cherry, coffee, fruit and power, with great wine, aromatic potential. 17.0 + vvpunkte, 2013-2018

Château Pignatel, Bandol Rouge, 2005
brighter burgundy. Airy open nose, some conifers, smoky, red berry. Very fine, mild round opener, very balanced, melting, alcohol and acid in balance, great fine tannins, potential for 5 years or longer. 5.17 vvpunkte, 2012-2019

Château de La Noblesse, Bandol Rouge, 2004
dark burgundy. Deep nose, smoky, subtle spice, rich flavors. Very nice fruit, pure elegance, top-structure, tannin and acid in balance, this is great class! Little text, many emotions :-) 18.0 + vvpunkte, 2012-2020

Domaine du Gros' Nore Bandol Rouge, 2003
Medium burgundy. Very open, something penchant for oxidative notes, ripe, very ripe nose. Red fruit, spicy, great balance. 5.16 vvpunkte, 2011-2014

Domaine Maubernard, Bandol Rouge, 2001
dark burgundy, slightly brighter edge. Open ripe nose, light port wine marks, raisins
Very soft start, much alcohol, good fine tannins, Blackberries, figs, very consistent, to the point. 17.0 vvpunkte, 2011-2015 +

Château Jean-Pierre Gaussen, Bandol Rouge, 2001 Longue Garde Magnum
dark burgundy deep to the edge. Open ripe nose, fireplace smoke, wow!, The substance is pure, top! Soft palate, the gently carbonated wahrnembar that disappear after a certain time. Top tannic structure, great fruit, coffee and chocolate, a highlight, yet totally young with great potential. 18.0 + vvpunkte, 2011-2022 +

Domaine Le Galantin, Bandol Rouge, 1998, Longue Gard, Cuvée Jérémy
Medium burgundy with a slightly lighter border. Deep nose, nice, red-berry fruits, plum compote, Almonds, vanilla. Very powerful palate, great fruit, noticeable alcohol, ripe and a touch of gangrenous. 17.0, 2011-2014 vvpunkte
