Tonight we enjoyed a Pinot from Italy. This much anticipated: a really great wine!
Wonderfully fresh, very typical Pinot nose, red berries, delicate spice, a little bacon, very deep, and with perfect, subtle use of wood. On the palate, round kick, great, typical of Pinot fruit flavors, then top tannin / acid structure and then a fine spiciness. Long, very harmonious finish. Reminds me of one of the biggest names from the Grisons (eg Wegelin Riserva). 5.17 vvpunkte. Now to 2018.
