Under Mémoire & Friends 2010 I could - wildly - try some very fine Swiss wines. Here part 1 of my impressions.

Great flavor, delicate herbal notes, very dense and smooth, with a great, rich fruit. 5.16 vvpunkte. 2010-2014 +

Topazio 2007
50% Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc 30% to 20% Merlot. Significant Neuholznoten, vanilla, chocolate. On the palate, nice fruit, red berries, again a fine flavor and very harmonious acidity. 17 +, 2012-2018 vvpunkte

Sauvignon Blanc 2009
Very expressive fruit aromas of lychee and pear with white. Toller, fruity-spicy taste, nice but not excessive acidity (a bit more would do most good). The wine has a very fresh and is very pleasant to drink. 5.16 vvpunkte, 2010-2012.

Pio della Rocca 2008
little reductive nose. On the palate, fleshy beautifies magnificent, plenty of fresh, mineral notes, great seasoning of pepper and rosemary (!) nice ripe tannins. Medium long finish. This is elegance. 5.16 vvpunkte +. 2012-2016 +

fresh, deep nose, lots of spice, red berries. Very elegant, drink strength palate, nice fruit, fine tannins, more modern but very elegant. Like it a lot. A wine competitions. 5.17 vvpunkte, 2010-2015

What a delightful flavor! The nose is super nice and amazingly complex. On the palate plenty of fresh fruit, but not overcooked top Elegant. Wow! A top-Gamay. 5.16 vvpunkte, 2010-2013.

Cornalin (2008?)
Very special nose, some rubber, Christmas cakes. On the palate, great, fresh fruit, high acidity, very consistent in the finish. 5.16 vvpunkte, 2010-2014

Syrah (2008?)
Typical Syrah nose, lots of spice, pepper blaubeerige notes. On the palate, very strong, impressive fruit, beautiful to resist Wort. Great structure. Excellently done. 17vvpunkte, 2011-2016 +

Sassi Grossi 2008
wood very stressed but also mineral nose - typically Sassi Grossi. More red-berry fruits, fresh, lively, very fine tannins. Average structure but with elegance. As always perfectly vinified although no long-distance runner. 5.16 vvpunkte, 2010-2015.

Estro 2007
Very modern nose, very deep. On the palate, lots of fruit, yet fresh, with extremely nice spiciness. The wine lives all in all, but of the fruit. Vvpunkte 16, 2010-2012.

Pinot Noir 2009 Pinot
Fruity nose, some Gletscherzältli acts, rather modern. On the palate, fleshy, round with rather low acidity and very smooth tannins. Well done, best drunk young and cool. Vvpunkte 15, 2010-2012.

Pinot Noir Barrique Cuvée Charlotte "2008
depth, fresh Pinot nose, wonderful spicy flavor that is fun. On the palate, lots of red berry fruit, very targeted use of wood, not too little, not too much. Excellent Pinot, straightforward, easy to drink beautifully. Vvpunkte 17, 2010-2015.

Pinot Noir Pur Sang 2007 Pinot
For a very dark color. Deep nose, not as expressive as the cuvée Charlotte, still somewhat restrained. On the palate, with very strong top structure, for my taste a lot of wood and a little too bold but quite impressive for a Pinot. look for those that power. Has reserves (I wonder if the 2008 brings more elegance ...). 16.5 + vvpunkte

Beautiful Pinot nose, very fresh and pleasant spiciness. Full, round kick, then fine extract sweetness, something wood and moderately elegant. Does something "made".

Pilgrin 2008
This is Pinot! Wonderful nose, spices, red berries, herbs - makes you want a first sip. On the palate, beautifully balanced, not too much of, but precisely crafted - a Pinot sculptured from stone. Pure elegance! Congratulations. 5.17 vvpunkte, 2010-2016 +

Terra Noir 2008
blend of Zweigelt, Merlot, Pinot Noir and Acolon. Spicy, fruity nose, subtle oak notes. On the palate again many blue and red berries, good structure and fragrant but not very exciting. 5.15 vvpunkte, 2010-2015.

Pinot Rhine 2008
beautiful, fresh, spicy nose, very deep on the palate, slender with.. a lot of power, great tannins and great acidity. Very good Pinot Noir with elegance. vvpunkte 17, 2010-2016.

Pinot Rhein 2006
re fresh nose, subtle herbal note, seems rather Burgundian. On the palate, great structure, not crude but elegant and balanced with complex aromas. Pinot at a very high level. 5.17 vvpunkte, 2010-2016.

Today in the glass, since a long time again a '94 Bordeaux. The vintage's not really enjoys a good reputation. Bulky, angular, Gerbstofflastig and the risk of some day to dry out. All that we presented today raises much hope.

Ch Branaire 1994 (St. Julien):


The color is amazing, deep burgundy, still very youthful, almost black in the core.
The nose still somewhat restrained but deeply enjoyable, shows notes of black berries (elderberry), and red berries, this resonates with smoke (like a Talisker Single Malt), black tea, dark chocolate and Lakrizze, some glucose. On the palate, meaty kick, great, red berry fruit, grapes again sugary sweetness and slightly peaty aroma extract, the whole accompanied by strong, angular tannins and crisp acidity. In the finish of medium length, maybe a little mortified.

An unexpectedly beautiful drinking pleasure. The wine is just starting his day. It can be Angegrunken (1-2h decanting pay), but should ideally remain are about 5-8 years. 17 + vvpunkte (90) - 2015-2022 +

Talbot 1982, 1982 and Branaire Pontet Canet 1986

A few days ago we enjoyed with Tony three respectively 4 beautiful wines. Two half bottles Talbot in 1982 with a different level and a bottle Branaire Pontet Canet 1982, and 1986th

was interesting to compare it to the very different stages of the two half bottles. Although both Fläschlein was taken from the same wooden box and the same basement level of a bottle against the "mid shoulder" while the other is still full bottle was filled to the neck.

Ch Talbot 1982, lower level, 37.5cl bottle: The wine is much more mature though not at all bad. It dominated tertiary aromas of forest floor, mushroom, cigar box, but to also mocha and some smoke. This Talbot is fully mature and drinking beautifully. He would certainly further 5-10 years to remain at that level. 18.5 (94) vvpunkte. Now until 2015 +.

1986 0.75cl bottle, normal level: This wine was very bulky. The nose was extremely interesting, since very smoky and peaty. You have to believe for a moment a Lagavulin in the glass. On the palate it shows yet powerful tannins with medium fruit and a harmonious acidity. He definitely needs more time to become fully ripe, has then scratch but quite isolated in the 18-point mark. 17 + (90 +) vvpunkte, 2015-2025.

Last night I was able to taste the wine shop in Schuer Seewen-Schwyz two new products from Austria. The new wine line called Aurie and is therefore extremely modern in design. The line includes 5 wines, 2 white (Pinot Blanc and GM) and 3 red (Zweigelt, St. Laurent and All Red - a Rotweincuvé). In keeping with modern design, the line also has the innovative Alcoa-glass seal that can be easily opened simply by pressing with your thumb. I have tasted

the Grüner Veltliner and the St. Laurent:

The Grüner Veltliner shows very typical of the variety of fresh, tart, fruity nose, some citrus flavors and hay. The palate is quite broad for a GM but it also very smooth. For my taste the acid is a little too subtle, this wine is extremely drinkable and should be well received by the general public. The wine is vinified perfect and fun. Ideal for a simple drink. 5.15 vvpunkte (84), now enjoy up to 2012.


The St. Laurent presents itself vigorously in the nose, with cool, dark berry fruit, there are many blackberries, black cherries and a little cassis, plus a subtle roasted flavor and a lovely spiciness reminiscent of lavender in late summer. On the palate, soft start, then a lot of meat, great acid-tannin structure, very round, soft mouth feel. In the finish of medium length and very consistent. A very modern, the young wines vinified drinking experience that has carried the ripe tannins and great acidity of certain reserves. It's fun. Vvpunkte 16 (86). 2010-2014

Tonight we enjoyed a Pinot from Italy. This much anticipated: a really great wine!

Wonderfully fresh, very typical Pinot nose, red berries, delicate spice, a little bacon, very deep, and with perfect, subtle use of wood. On the palate, round kick, great, typical of Pinot fruit flavors, then top tannin / acid structure and then a fine spiciness. Long, very harmonious finish. Reminds me of one of the biggest names from the Grisons (eg Wegelin Riserva). 5.17 vvpunkte. Now to 2018.

dark, still very youthful color, no trace of age sounds. Also smoky nose, deep, cool, a lot of dark berries, cedar, coffee and eucalyptus. On the palate but a little too rough with a lot of meat on the bones. The tannins are still very present, require more time. In contrast to my last bottle of this wine seems to be less far, still needs some cellar alone. 18 vvpunkte +, antrinkbar up with reserves 2025th Mondavi Cabernet Sauvignon 1995

Medium burgundy, lighter border. Typical Cabernet nose, some cassis, smoky component is also very pleasant though not particularly deep. balanced on the palate great fruit, aromatic, one-dimensional as well but all his colleagues.
